Positions

  • Get real-world experience working at a TV station, covering live programs for broadcast. Learn how to be a Technical Director and join a network of creatives as well as political figures.

    Work Study eligible college students only. Must be able to work evenings, one day a week.

    What you’ll do:

    • Cover 3 Live Shoots a month in their entirety

    • Set up and break down audio equipment

    • Manage the broadcast

    • Work closely with the Media Coordinator to develop skills

    • Edit (as needed) with Adobe Premiere remotely


    Intern Requirements:

    • Applicants must be majoring in Film/Video/Communications, or provide work samples

    • Ability to learn on the job

    • Punctuality (late arrivals will result in dismissal from the internship)

    • Ability to work to standard, independently

  • Lead the social media strategy of our TV Station. It is important that we keep community members informed about what’s going on in town, and well as what we’re doing within our station. Being creative is a must! 


    What you’ll do:

    • Manage the marketing strategy for our social media accounts

    • Post consistently on our social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook)

    • Use Instagram reels and stories to boost engagement and widen our audience

    • Create content for our “commercial break”s

    • Create ability-informed graphics to maintain visual accessibility

    Intern Requirements:

    • Experience using Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook

    • Ability to write in a clear, concise, and compelling manner

    • Basic graphic design experience (provide work samples)

    • Ability to work independently

  • Get real-world experience working in an office of a TV station. Interface with community members to help them get connected with resources and assist staff in serving the community. Get cursory experience with high-end production equipment and join a network of local creatives and political figures.

    Work Study Preferred.


    What you’ll do:

    • Inventory production equipment, working closely with the Production Manager

    • Answer the phone and door to let people in

    • Assist members with small tasks like signing up for membership

    • Reset spaces after use


    Intern Requirements:

    • Interpersonal skills to create a friendly and welcoming environment

    • Ability to take and work with verbal instructions

    • Careful and meticulous data entry (for vital operations)

    • Ability to type and use a PC or Mac computer

  • Build work experience in data management, digital archiving and digital libraries for a television station.

    Work Study preferred.

    What you’ll do:

    • Work closely with the Media Coordinator to add and remove content

    • Review and update metadata as necessary for our media library

    • Carefully cross-reference various platforms for redundancy and consistency.


    Intern Requirements:

    • Careful and meticulous data entry

    • Ability to take and work with verbal instructions

    • Ability to type and use a Mac or PC computer
